Hemp towels are a better investment than nice cotton towels. Hemp is naturally a more absorbent material compared to cotton. Hemp towels are also mold and UV resistant, so no worries if you leave your damp towel outside. The only downside with hemp vs. cotton is that cotton is a bit softer. Because hemp is more durable as a fiber material, you are trading the pillowy softness of a fresh cotton towel. Be more gentle with yourself when drying off.

It depends on what you’re after. If you want softness, then cotton is softer than hemp. But hemp gets softer as you keep washing it over time. If you want durability, then hemp is the perfect choice for you. Hemp towels can last much longer than your average cotton towel. Hemp can also absorb water much faster than cotton, which is another reason why people often opt for hemp towels. Apart from that, they are both biodegradable and highly breathable materials.

I love hemp, but I must be honest, 100% HEMP towels are not the best, and they’re nowhere near as soft and smooth on the skin as their cotton counterparts. However, you can now by hemp-cotton blend towels. These are great because they give you the benefits of hemp, with the softness of cotton.

So, do buy hemp towels, but try to make sure they are hemp-cotton towels.

Some of the benefits of hemp towels that make them better than cotton are, hemp is ultra-absorbent, and they become stronger with use. Unlike cotton, they are quick-drying, which prevents the build-up of mold and bacteria; they are biostatic. Hemp towels are better for people and the planet.

The touch is not as smooth as organic cotton or bamboo towels, but hemp fibers are very absorbent and dry in a blink! Whether they are a flat design or plush-terry style with a slightly coarse texture that gets softer with every single wash.

In most senses, I would think it would be. It’s more absorbing then just a cotton towel. Hemp is more durable, meaning the towel will last longer and can be stretched more too. Also, hemp is anti-mildew, so if you dry off and throw your towel into the corner, no need to worry about it growing legs and walking away.

The downside would be a hemp towel seem like it would be a way to scratchy for me. I think a cotton and hemp blended towel would be the best option.

Hemp fibers are strong and durable natural textile fibers which make its products also durable that will last for a long time. The hemp fabrics are more durable, more absorbent, better insulating than cotton. Thus, making hemp towels better than cotton towels. These hemp towels are ultra-absorbent, quick-drying, and exfoliating bath towels.

Yes, hemp towels are better than cotton towels when it comes to absorbing water (which is the primary purpose of a towel). However, hemp towels may not be as comfortable on the skin as a cotton towel. Hemp is rougher than cotton. Therefore, a blend of hemp and cotton may actually be the perfect combination for towel material, because the hemp will wick away moisture while the cotton will add softness.

      Well,

Hemp is more absorbent, yes, but in terms of softness? I’m not sure…

I’d have to agree with the blend of cotton and hemp on this one.

For a towel, I prefer some comfort rather than pure absorbability.

Better at what? Overall being a towel, I would say a blend of the two since hemp is much more durable, antimicrobial, and handles moisture better. But, it is quite uncomfortable, mainly if used on yourself after a shower. So, a blend of the two would give it the qualities of cotton and hemp, making it an ideal towel.

Took the words right out of my mouth! I don’t want to just repeat what you’ve said, so I’ll piggyback here (: For animals and livestock with lots of hair/fur, a 100% hemp towel is great, but for human use, or thinner-coated pets, I’d recommend a blend.

Yes! Hemp is SUPER absorbent! It absorbs up to 4 X more liquid than cotton and has superior wicking qualities. The antimicrobial qualities keep germs down, which makes hemp great for towels, too. Hemp is a great choice for towels, sheets, and even reusable diapers!
