Yes, hemp seeds are ok for wild birds to eat. They are high in protein, and the nutty qualities are desirable to birds. Industrial hemp will be heat treated and pressurized to prevent sprouting. Because they have so much oil, they do tend to go bad quickly. Make sure to put hemp seed out for your backyard bird feeders shortly after purchasing for the best quality seeds.

Hemp seeds are highly nutritious and perfectly safe and healthy for birds. They are already used as bird feed on their own and also as part of feed mixes. They are full of vitamins, minerals, fiber, proteins, as well as omega fatty acids. They have a nutty flavor with lots of health benefits. So, they make a great dietary supplement for birds. And hemp seeds are also used by breeders to help birds gain weight. A lot of nutrition in there and none of it is unnatural or harmful to creatures that might want to eat it. Although I’ll be honest, if you have hemp seeds, you can just as well eat them yourself!

Yes, birds will not be harmed in any way by eating hemp seeds. However, if you buy them, wouldn’t you much rather eat them for yourself?

Birds can eat hemp seeds. It is one of their favorite seeds and is often found as an ingredient of birdseed mixes. Hanf seeds are an excellent source of protein, amino acids, and fatty acids, so they are incredibly healthy for birds and humans alike.

Birds can and do eat hemp seeds. Hemp seeds offer the same nutritional value to birds that hemp seeds provide to humans.

Yeah, hemp seed is full of oils that could be fed solemnly or mixed in content is very rich for gaining attributes for birds exclusively in the breeding season. Also, fisher-men do like bits of hemp seeds to use it as bait!

Most definitely! Hemp seeds are excellent for birds, animals, and humans alike! You could mod it in with other bird food, but you don’t have too! They could eat it straight!

Yes! Funny story. I used to work for a granola company (check out Sweetgrass Granola if you want a tasty, handmade treat!) and we had a flavor called “For the Birds”… it had hemp hearts and freeze-dried strawberries (among the regular oats, flax, millet, et cetera). Anyway, we had to discontinue it because so many customers thought it was bird food.

Yes! Hemp seeds are some of the most nutrient-dense foods that can be eaten by humans and animals alike.

I remember reading a story about some in the UK feeding birds exclusively hemp seeds and hemp plants started to pop up all around his city. Pretty funny stuff!

Yes. Hemp seed has lots of oils so you can feed it to your birds straight, or you can mix in other seeds as part of their regular feed. It’s usually used in the breeding season as a supplement to help birds gain weight.
