The industry is changing so quickly, and it’s hard to answer that definitively. At the beginning of the 2019 growing season, the wide-spread availability of cultivating industrial hemp was still new, and as such, there were always weird carryover rules from the decades’ long prohibition. These rules affected the way the profits from hemp sales were stored (like it was a cash-only venture…), and it was not given the same dignity, so to speak, as other crops. However, as the industry grows and gains traction, the perceptions are changing, and more states and carriers are allowing for the plant to be insured, just like any other farming operation is able to ensure its goods.
