Yes and no, hemp car panels, the added accessories like plastic, can be replaced with hemp plastic. But the car won’t be 100% made from the fiber.

You can’t make the actual vehicle out of hemp. But, it is possible that a car could run on hemp bio-fuel.

In 1941, it was an idea by Henry Ford. They spent twelve years on a case study to scrutinize the potentials of inventing the car made thoroughly out of hemp, one which could use hemp as fuel and vegetable oil. He believed that such a car would change the environment. Well, in short, there were, at that time, influential groups, including the wealthy and affluent gasoline industry who lobbied to prevent the production of biological fuels.

Yes, you can, and Henry Ford (yes, THAT Henry Ford) actually designed and built a car that was made 100% from hemp that even ran using hemp-derived fuel. People called it the “cannabis car.” Unfortunately, it didn’t catch on, which is why you don’t see people driving cannabis cars today.

Hmm. It sounds like a biofuel that could maybe replace oil at some point? Would love to see more sustainable car options in the future.

YES! Henry Ford did it! Years ago, I heard Joe Rogan mention it on his podcast, and I thought he was full of it. I looked it up, and there it was! Henry Ford was beating the crap out of this car made from hemp… with an AXE! And the axe just bounced right off!
