i am looking for a solution for the floor construction . the building is 200years old without foundations or any form of damp proofing, the walls are stone bound with mud or unfired mud brick. the current flooring is clay brick tiles directly onto the clay soil .
i see the hemp block solution as an option , any solution that doesn’t breath will concentrate the damp into the walls and damage them.
my question is , where can i access information regarding the construction method of the floor using hemp block that will minimize any rising damp through the floor but still allow for the building to breath as these old buildings need to.
