Biodegradable plastics would typically take six months to decompose fully, and this includes hemp plastic. This is much better and quicker than the synthetic plastics that would take hundreds of years. Hemp contains a large amount of cellulose that makes it well suited to be the alternative plastic that is proven to be eco-friendly at the same time.

About 3 to 6 months, you depend on conditions!

A lot faster than standard plastic, wouldn’t you say?

The word is hemp plastic takes up to 3-4 months to biodegrade fully, and it’s 100% recyclable. This is in stark contrast to its far less environmentally friendly counterpart PET plastic (used in plastic bottles and many other commonly used plastic products), which is believed to take 450 YEARS to biodegrade. Wild.

For all biodegradable plastics, which is what hemp plastic is classified as, will take several months to degrade (3-6). Compared to regular plastic, taking hundreds of years to biodegrade.
