Based on a simple google search, it apparently might need more than other plants require.
It would make sense, considering it is an aggressive weed if left alone to its own devices.
But then as you read further, you realize that it’s indeed a crop that enjoys hot and sunny weather.
I think hemp is one of the hardiest plants around. That doesn’t mean that it can handle over-watering. It is a plant, after all.

Depending on the climate, a lot, especially in peak season. They can need up to 5 gallons a day, per plant, or as little as 3 gallons. If in drier soil I would definitely recommend you install irrigation to hemp plants as this could become a tedious process.
