There is no question that hemp plastics could easily replace all the plastic in packaging and MUCH better for things like children’s toys. They make everything from car parts, luggage and kitchen containers to laundry hampers and make-up packaging from hemp plastic already. I’m waiting for petroleum plastics to fade into the past, where they should be!

Hemp plastic is 2.5 times stronger than traditionally used plastic, and it’s actually around five times stiffer too. So, in spite of its biodegradable properties, it’s strong, it’s lightweight, and it’s also resistant to heat; making it a supreme choice over and above regular plastic.

Quite strong! Recent studies have shown that it is about twice as strong as regular plastic. The downside being, it is not as comfortable or breathable as cotton when used as clothing. When used for other biodegradable plastic uses, it could provide a great solution to plastic waste as it biodegrades in a few months compared to plastic that takes hundreds of years.
