Hemp shoes are sturdier than canvas shoes with the same aesthetic feel. The upkeep is about the same. The difference is hemp shoes do not fray like canvas does, which is a big plus! You will tear up a pair of canvas shoes within 2/3months with regular wear, where the same shoes made from hemp will last you two seasons before showing any wear. What you need to watch out for is staining. Hemp is very absorbent and will hold on to color for the lifetime of the fabric. Always spot clean your hemp shoes with mild soap and baking soda, then air dry. This should take the stain right out.

I had a pair of hemp loafers and lazily put them on a low wash in my machine – WORST MISTAKE EVER.
Spot clean if you can, rinse in lukewarm water, but don’t even think about putting hemp shoes in the washing machine. Sure, the fibers are tough, but it can ruin a perfectly good pair of shoes.

Cleaning hemp shoes is comfortable and won’t take much time. First, use a brush to remove any dried up mud and debris. Then dissolve some mild detergent in a bucket full of water. Take a piece of cloth and dip it in the bucket. Then rub the shoes to remove any stains. After that, rinse the cloth and clean off any detergent from the shoes. Wet the cloth several times and ensure that the shoes are entirely free from detergent. Then let them dry off properly. Avoid machine washing and exposing the hemp shoes to any heat.

In a pot or bucket, add a tsp of laundry detergent to a gallon of warm water. Using a really soft scrub brush, dip the brush into the soapy water, and scrub the shoes. Remove the soap residue with a clean rag with plain warm water. Keep rinsing the rag until all of the soap is removed from the shoes. Let the shoe air dry.

It is best to clean hemp shoes with cold soapy water by hand and rinse them out in cold water. It would be best if you then hang them out to air dry to avoid any shrinkage. Taking good care of hemp shoes is essential, wipe them down with a damp rag regularly.

The best way to clean hemp shoes is to hand clean them. Use a mild or natural detergent or soap and a bristle brush or toothbrush to focus in on the areas that are dirty. If you really feel like you have to wash them in the washing machine, be sure to use cold water and do not dry them in the dryer. Instead, reshape them and ideally leave them in the sun to air dry.

Avoid using a washing machine and dryer in cleaning hemp shoes because it may shrink, but you can use cooler water to lessen the shrinking. But it is better if you just spot clean and gently scrub with a brush or cloth with a mild detergent with warm water, then rinse.

Spot clean and just scrub with a brush and a little bit of detergent in the soiled spot. I would avoid the washing machine if you could and would 100% avoid the dryer, so the Hemp in the shoes does not shrink because (I have learned the hard way) Hemp will shrink!

I would recommend just spot cleaning them. If you want to wash them in a machine, make sure to do so with cooler water, not hot, so the material does not shrink or get damaged in the process.

You can spot clean, or wash in warm water with a mild detergent, and gently clean with a bursh or cloth, then rinse.

Because hemp is so sturdy, the fibers don’t stretch as easily as others do.
You could probably get away with machine washing them, but sometimes there are adhesives that may deteriorate in the wash, so it’s best to avoid it.
Cleaning hemp shoes is easy anyways! You just need to give it a classic wet and soapy scrub!
Try not to completely submerge them in water.
Your hemp shoes will last an extremely long time if you properly take care of them like this.
