You make a hemp lanyard by braiding, knitting, or crocheting hemp cord. Hemp yarn or cord is very sturdy. You also do not have to worry about your stitches catching in between the fibers as you do with traditional yarn. You can make a hemp lanyard very quickly. I have made hemp jewelry with all types of stitches and braids. You also know that your project will not fray over time. Your knots are staying put!

The best way to make hemp lanyard is by using hemp rope. Measure out the length of the lanyard by placing it around the area you want to use it, always add a little length. Use an above and under technique to intertwine and strengthen the rope. Okay, once you have reached the desired length, tie off the rope, and add any accessories to your piece.

I will show you how to make a hemp lanyard for a keychain. Start with plenty of string/rope, as w and begin by laying out your two strings in an X. Take the one on the top right and move it down. Then do the same with the string on the bottom right. Then follow with the string on the bottom left. Finally, take the top left string and pass it over the first string while putting it under the second. Pull this tight against the ring. Congratulations! You’ve completed the most difficult part of making a hemp lanyard!
Now your knot should look somewhat like a square. You’ll continue by making the same knots over and over, about ten times, to form your hemp lanyard.

First, you have to buy some hemp rope from arts and crafts or fabric store. Buy hemp rope or string depending on what you want to do. Then follow what Moogdummy wrote in their post, and there you have it! They have the most basic way of doing this on your own!

Hemp fiber is strong and durable. The lanyard can also be made out of hemp. You can make a hemp lanyard using the necessary materials like hemp cord/rope, string, and crochet. You just do it by knotting the strings. First, make a four-strand round braid. Second, create a slipknot to attach the keyring from halfway through a section. And third, continue to make a snake knot with the remaining loose strands.

Moogdummy laid out the procedure very nicely. You can also do it in a similar way to a bracelet, that instruction is posted on a similar question on this website, “How to make a hemp bracelet.” Hemp is naturally very durable and weather resistant, making it the perfect material to use for any accessory like these.

Purchase some hemp rope from a fabric store and learn the four-strand round braid knot (there are many tutorials online for this!).
You’ll want 10 feet of 1 color and 10 feet of another color (unless you want monochrome, then just do 20 feet of one color)
The paracords you want would be size 550, but you can go however thick or thin you want.
You should also purchase your swivel eye lobster snap clasp hook for your lanyard.
Start by making your four strands round braid.
Then, halfway thru section out 3 inches of one of your four strands and create a slipknot to attach your keyring.
After that, continue making a snake knot with the last remaining loose strands that are left.
This completes your hemp lanyard!
