I’d suggest looking up macrame instructions! There are so many different styles, ranging from simple to very ornate! But, any of the instructions you can find can be made with hemp string!

You need to know how to make a square knot.
As a general rule, you will need at least 12x the length of whatever your measurements are.
If your neck is 15 inches, then you will need 180 inches of hemp.
Create the loop that will be the base necklace loop that goes around your neck.
Secure the loop with a weight so you can have two free hands to complete the rest of the necklace.
Fold the base strand in half to create the end clasp that will be used.
Then, fold the long strand in half and wrap its loop around the base strand’s loop.
You’re now ready to start doing your square knotting that was mentioned earlier.
In between square knotting, add your beads or whatever decorations that you want on your necklace.
Trim off the excess, and tie and ending knot if need be, and then you’re done!
