Hemp litter is highly absorbent compared to the regular stuff. It’s also known to be easy to clean. The best part is that it’s biodegradable and non-toxic, so it’s safe for both your pet and the environment. And anything made from hemp fiber tends to be extremely light. So, you won’t have to drag around heavy bags. But because it’s so light, your cat might start digging and spill it over. So you could end up with more cleaning work.

Hemp cat litter is 100% non-toxic, eco-friendly, and biodegradable. So, there are lots of plusses. However, I have personally tried it out and didn’t find it as useful as some of the other eco-friendly options. The main issue for me was the clumping, which isn’t as good as some of the other brands. However, the fact there was no dust when I cleaned it, and the smell was ok; I did make up for the lack of clumpiness.

Hemp is very absorbent and traps orders. The texture is not off-putting, which can be a concern for some cat owners. Some cats are susceptible to surfaces, and switching litters can be a potential hassle. Not only are you better for the environment by using hemp over the clay, but you are also making sure your cat is not exposed to harmful chemicals that are found in most litters. If you also have a dog that likes to explore the litter box, you have to watch about the clumping, but not the ingestion of chemicals.

Hemp cat litter works very well. It is dust-free, so no issues of breathing that in during cleaning. Hemp cat litter is also biodegradable and flushable, making it easy to clean up. Hemp cat litter is odor-free, which is ideal for your cat as they have a very acute sense of smell. Hemp cat litter is also known to be five times more absorbent than other cat litters on the market.

I once pet sat a cat for a family friend that used hemp litter. It does NOT clump as good as the original litter.

But it does capture the smell just as good if not better! So that’s a plus, and my buddy had a compost pile that we would drop the litter right in! Another win!

But the biggest surprise and win for me was that there was little to no dust when I would scoop or pour it out of the container. That was huge for me!

Based on reading some amazon reviews, you either love it or hate it.

Some people say it smells like pee within 24 hours while some say otherwise.

Because it is natural organic matter, it is flushable and great if you’re potty training your cat!

From my own experience with it, very well! While it does not clump as well as regular cat litter, it smells much better and does not create dust when being cleaned. As stated above, you can also compost it rather than throwing it away.

I used clumping litter before, so I wondered how hemp cat litter would work. It’s not dusty, which was a big concern. It does mask the scent well. Really very easy to clean and lasts twice as long. I also compost it instead of trashing it. Overall, I’m very pleased with the hemp litter. Oh, and the cats like it, too!

It’s non-toxic! Although I wouldn’t want to eat it, hahaha. But for real, there is no danger in it. It’s also excellent bedding for livestock–it is a lot cleaner than other, dustier materials.
