Yes, but you have to be licensed, and they’re one of the more strict states about it.
Authorities have a hard time distinguishing between hemp and cannabis, so it could be a while before more clear legislation is pushed through Georgia.

As to inform the browsers no hemp, it was grown last year in Georgia, but according to the legislation stating the circumstances where you are forbidden or allowed to use is crystal clear! To illustrate it: you provide it for licensing and permit requirements for hemp growers or department of agriculture; you are free to do the hemp industry, but if it contains marijuana, there will be penalties due to the opposing attorneys.

Yes. Hemp is legal in Georgia. Georgia Hemp Farming Act was signed by Georgia’s Governor Brian Kemp into law on May 10, 2019. The Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA) or farmers in Georgia is authorized and allowed to legally plant, grow, cultivate, process, and sell industrial hemp. They just have to submit and process permits and grower license applications online.

Yes, it is one of the most recent states to do so. Like many others, too, you will need to obtain a license to do so from the appropriate state department. Like any business endeavor, you will want to have a business plan in place and identify any hurdles that you may encounter, allowing you to start off on the right path.

To piggyback off this, the local department of agriculture offices and farm service agencies can provide a lot of guidance to new farmers, and can even help you get your farm plan drawn up!

Is industrial hemp legal in Georgia?
Melody
Yes. In May of 2019, Governor Brian Kemp of Georgia signed a new law, HB213, which is the Georgia Hemp Farming Act. This new bill allows Georgia farmers to grow and sell their industrial hemp legally. The state is clear in expressing that this does not legalize possession and selling marijuana.
