If you want to grow hemp in Nebraska legally, then you’ll need to get a license for doing so. It was legalized in 2019 to produce grain, CBD, and hemp fiber. However, it needs to have a THC content os 0.3% or less (this is standard in most states).
If you want to grow hemp in Nebraska for recreational or medical uses, it is still illegal.

Hemp production for fiber, CBD, or grain has been legalized in Nebraska. The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) has the authority to regulate from growing, processing, management down to selling hemp plants in Nebraska. A farmer must obtain a license to legally grow hemp whatever purpose or size for cultivation they desire.

Yes, but there are still a bunch of hoops you need to jump through in order to get the license.

Yes, but you need a signed license agreement, as defined by LB657.
The application costs $100, and once approved, there’s another $400 as processing fees and another $800 in registration fees.

Even if the state had its own regulations around it, the 2018 farm bill made it legal everywhere in the states with certain stipulations ( like the THC content ).

Yes, Nebraska, too, joined the states, approved growing hemp for fiber, seeds, and even cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabidiol oil in 2019, but they put a condition on it. The condition is that plant parts that grew for industrial hemp must have less than 0.3 percent of THC concentration. Yet, production and/or use of medical THC, marijuana, and recreational purposes is still illegal in Nebraska, so You outlaws, I’m watching you!!

Yes! But, just like a business endeavor, it is encouraged to have a business plan in place that can make sure you start on the right foot. Obtaining a license in said state is vital so that no legal action can be taken against you.

It is! The Farm Bill that passed in 2018 removed hemp from the list of schedule drugs. Now, it’s just another ag commodity, like wheat or corn. Now, the specific licenses and processes for acquiring them will vary by state.

Welllll… Nebraska legalized growing hemp for CBD, fiber, and grain back in 2019. BUT… all of that is under the condition that the plant parts of the industrial hemp ALL have a low THC concentration. It ALL has to be less than 0.3%. In Nebraska, the use and production MJ and THC, for recreational use and even for medical purposes are still illegal. Poor Nebraska! But times are changing…

Yes, as of 2019, Nebraska legalized hemp production for fiber, grain, or CBD – with the condition that plant parts have a THC concentration of less than 0.3%. Production of marijuana for medical or recreational purposes is still illegal in Nebraska, however.
