Yes it is legal and they currently abide by the 2018 farm bill rules.
You have to apply separately for a grower’s license and or a processor.

The New Jersey Hemp Farming Act was appointed in August 2019. The latest bill complies with the 2018 Farm Bill, which empowered hemp generators to grow and sell hemp for marketing purposes. New Jersey was really among the first three states to have its Hemp Program supported by the USDA.

Yes, it is. Like many other states that allow it, you will need to obtain a license in order to do so. Like any business endeavor, you will want to have a business plan in place and identify any hurdles that you may have to overcome.

It is! In 2019, New Jersey passed a Farm Act that further expanded on the provisions set out federally by the 2018 Farm Bill. So, while it is legal, one still needs to check in with the New Jersey department of agriculture to ensure compliance.

Yes, it is legal to grow hemp in New Jersey. However, you need to get a permit in order to start hemp industrial farming.

Where do New Jersey hemp farmers get their industrial hemp permits from? Is the application process complicated or easy?

In August of 2019, they enacted the New Jersey Hemp Farming Act. This legislation is well in line with the federal 2018 Farm Bill. So, hemp producers are now authorized to sell and grow hemp commercially. By the end of 2019, on December 27, NJ became one of the first 3 states that had the USDA approve their Hemp Program. Congrats NJ!
