Yes, it is legal to grow hemp in New Mexico. Although they passed their bill a little after most other states, the growers have a hefty $800 per year price to tag to get a license, then face ongoing annual inspection fees that are based on a price per acre cost.

As a matter of fact, yes, it is! On the act of legalizing hemp under the CSA provided in 2018, they announced it at the federal level. However, people must give taxes to the government at various prices depending on the THC content, planting it, or another user of the cannabis that demands kind of profited need. At this point, this means that you can happily get high as you are always in New Mexico!

Growing hemp is legal in New Mexico under the 2018 Farm Bill. The first legal harvest was in 2019. However, just like in any other state, farmers must first obtain a license issued by USDA to start farming. Other farmers in New Mexico are now looking forward to another plant to be legalized shortly: marijuana.

Yes, it is, but if growers have not adopted a USDA approved hemp regulatory plan by November 1st, 2020, they can request one from the USDA directly.

States like New Mexico are still catching up on defining their own local program guidelines.

Yes! As of last year, 2019, the state authorized it. But, just like any business endeavor, please have a business plan in place so that you start off on the right path. Identifying potential blockers is especially important, and of course, make sure to obtain a license from your state’s office, many have a website that directs this issue.

It is! However, following the 2018 Federal Farm Act that legalized hemp as an agricultural commodity, New Mexico passed legislature which further defined what cultivation looks like within their state.

Yes! New Mexico authorities finalized the hemp rules early enough in 2019 that farmers managed to grow a legal crop that year. The regulations include an $800 a year fee for growing hemp outdoors, and annual inspection fees added to that for $6 an acre.

Yes, it is legal to grow hemp in New Mexico. Hemp was legalized nationwide under the 2018 Farm Bill. But in 2019, New Mexico passed a separate bill authorizing the cultivation, breeding, and testing of hemp plants.
