Compositionally and scientifically, hemp is marijuana’s non-psychoactive cousin. Hemp comes from the same species of plant but is genetically distinguished by its use, chemical composition, and methods of cultivation–it contains less than .3% THC. It is still rich in cannabinoids that have numerous health benefits, so in medicinal terms, it’s the therapeutic benefits of the CBD compounds, without the mind-altering effects of the THC.
