There was a publication by the USDA in 1914 that said it’s found as a roadside weed throughout the midwest. However, I’m not sure on how much of the hemp they were talking about there was truly wild, and what was “feral”–the offspring “ditch weed” that results from the stragglers of industrial hemp. It’s also prevalent in the Middle East, as well–the Himalayas, India, Nepal.

Well – I don’t know everywhere, but it is abundant throughout the Mid-west.
States like Iowa, Missouri, and Minnesota have always seemed to have an abundance of it growing wildly and naturally.
