We may be inching closer to producing alternative plastics en masse what with many countries around the world, making transitions to sustainable methods and practices though PET or polyethylene terephthalate, remains to be the primary material in many of our plastic products. Cost versus profit continues to hinder steps towards renewable resources, but here’s hoping other countries lead the charge and set a new standard in the coming decade!

As hempmaster stated, the cost is a big concern. In recent years, the cost has gone done a lot, so maybe more manufacturers are making more hemp plastic. Another reason being, it is not as breathable and comfortable as cotton or other clothing material currently used.

Right now, it’s a cost thing. Hemp plastic is about double in cost than plastic or other off plastic alternative products.
If it were the same or even slightly more, it would be in mass markets by now!!
